Therapy and EMDR

Sometimes we get so caught up in the things that aren't working as well as we'd like that those things come to define how we view ourselves. I will help you shift these stories to reflect the life that you want to be living. It's okay if you don't know what that looks like yet. That's a great place to begin.

Issues I commonly support in my practice:

  • Depression (lack of interest, hopelessness, fatigue)

  • Anxiety (Panic attacks, phobias, generalized anxiety)

  • Other mood issues (irritability, agitation)

  • PTSD/Acute Stress

  • Parenting challenges

  • Search for identity and meaning

  • Creative blocks

  • Emotional regulation issues

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

I am also trained in EMDR, which is a form of trauma treatment that taps into our brain's innate capacity to make new connections and generate new beliefs about ourselves and our safety in the world. EMDR can be a powerful adjunct to ongoing relational psychotherapy, or can be utilized on its own to target symptoms of depression, anxiety, panic, and PTSD. I'll help you navigate the dark places inside and also make room to enjoy the space where the clouds break.  My most trusted intervention is a profound appreciation for you and your process of looking within. I am engaged and collaborative, and relate to my clients with warmth, empathy, and respect. Depending on your interest, I also incorporate somatic work. The body can be a profound source of information about where you might be feeling stuck, afraid, or out of touch with yourself, and often holds the key to healing and growth.
