Therapy and EMDR

Sometimes we get so caught up in the things that aren't working as well as we'd like that those things come to define how we view ourselves. I will help you shift these stories to reflect the life that you want to be living. It's okay if you don't know what that looks like yet. That's a great place to begin.

Issues I commonly support in my practice:

  • Depression (lack of interest, hopelessness, fatigue)

  • Anxiety (Panic attacks, phobias, generalized anxiety)

  • Other mood issues (irritability, agitation)

  • PTSD/Acute Stress

  • Parenting struggles (see below)

  • Search for identity and meaning

  • Creative blocks

  • Emotional regulation issues

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

I am also trained in EMDR, which is a form of trauma treatment that taps into our brain's innate capacity to make new connections and generate new beliefs about ourselves and our safety in the world. EMDR can be a powerful adjunct to ongoing psychotherapy or can be utilized for short to mid-term relief from symptoms of depression, anxiety, panic, and PTSD. Visit the EMDRIA website for more information: https://www.emdria.org/about-emdr-therapy/

I'll help you navigate the dark places inside and also make room to enjoy the space where the clouds break.  My most trusted intervention is a profound appreciation for you and your process of looking within. I am engaged and collaborative, and relate to my clients with warmth, empathy, and respect. Depending on your interest, I also incorporate somatic work. The body can be a profound source of information about where you might be feeling stuck, afraid, or out of touch with yourself, and often holds the key to healing and growth.
