KAP (Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy) is a holistic modality in which ketamine is used as a complement to psychotherapy to help facilitate healing, growth, and sustained reduction in symptoms.

In addition to these medical benefits, it can promote self-discovery and renewal, and offer an opportunity to connect with your innate creativity and wisdom.

Course of treatment:

  • I work in collaboration with Journey Clinical, who manages all of the medical aspects of the treatment.  Journey Clinical is a platform for licensed psychotherapists to incorporate science-based psychedelic therapies in their practice safely and effectively, starting with KAP. Journey Clinical’s in-house medical team takes on patient eligibility, prescriptions and outcome monitoring, while I take on the therapy. Their collaborative care model is designed to deliver personalized treatment plans to meet your individual needs and improve long-term outcomes.

  • After preparation sessions with me to set a clear intention for the experience, you'll self-administer your prescribed Ketamine during a 3-hour psychotherapy session in which you will be comfortable-- lying down, with an eye mask on, and gentle music playing.

  • Most people find the effects of Ketamine pleasant and soothing. It can produce feelings of separation from your typical experience of reality, in a way that allows for the emergence of new perspectives on familiar and seemingly stuck patterns.

  • Through active follow-up (integration), we work to help you implement these new perspectives into your life to create lasting change.

What to know about Ketamine:

  • Ketamine is a legal, safe, and effective medicine used to treat a variety of conditions, including depression, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD. It is FDA-approved as an anesthetic, so is being used off-label to treat mental health symptoms.

  • It works by blocking the brain’s NMDA receptors as well as by stimulating AMPA receptors which are thought to help form new synaptic connections and boost neural circuits that regulate stress and mood. Ketamine has also been shown to enhance overall neuroplasticity for lasting symptom improvement.
